Before Anthony Bourdain became a chef, writer and cultural icon, he was a messy nineteen-year-old searching for direction during one formative summer in Provincetown. In Episode 22, we review Tony, Matt Johnson’s unconventional Bourdain biopic starring Dominic Sessa and Antonio Banderas. Rather than racing through Bourdain’s entire life, the film stays in the summer of 1976 and allows its subject to remain difficult, frustrating and unresolved.
